Kootenay Animal Assistance Program Society (KAAP) is now a registered Charity. We are able to issue tax receipts for donations. KAAP provides many services, including re-homing pets, a spay/neuter program for low-income families, a free pet lost-and-found service, home pet sitting, compassionate care for pets of families in crisis, humane education, and much more. Help us! Volunteer, Donate, Adopt, Refer, and Support KAAP. Our Pet Adoption Clinics are every Sunday from 1-3 pm at the brand new Downward Dog Pet Supplies store (formerly Four Paws location) at 640 Front St, Nelson, in the West Arm Plaza.

Homes4Animals.com is a free public web site for anyone wanting to view animals available for adoption, find lost pets, or post an ad for an animal needing a new home. We currently serve the area in and around Nelson, British Columbia, Canada.

If you wish to post an ad, please send a complete description of the animal - name, age, breed, personality, does it get along with other dogs/cats/children, special needs, reason for advertising, where the animal is currently, and your phone and email information, and MOST IMPORTANT: a jpg image. (Please note: we do not post ads for animals for sale.)

Our 2 dogs got out of our fenced yard tonight and have run off. Could we please put them on the lost dog page? Abby is a short, yellow lab, spayed, red collar and name tag. She is very friendly and will come to anyone if called. Bronte is a black Bouvier with long hair over her eyes and a beard. She is spayed and wears a black collar with name tag. She also has a breeder's tattoo on her belly. She is wary of strangers and may not come to someone. Our address is 2190 Taylor Dr (4 mile on the North Shore) in Nelson. Karma the Cat needs temporary foster home urgently

I have come here in search of some help. I have a beautiful medium haired silver tabby cat who is almost a year old. I have fallen on some difficult times, and had to temporarily move into a place that I am not allowed to have him with me. I am looking for a new place to live that will allow me to keep him, but in the mean time, I need to find a place for him to stay. I am looking for someone who can foster him (food and litter will be provided) until the first of June when I can move into my new place.
About him : Karma is a medium length silver tabby approx one year old. He was rescued off the highway where his previous owners dumped him in a plastic garbage bag. He is litter trained, has all his shots, neutered, and tattooed. Also gets along great with other animals.
